Melinda's story began in Charlottetown, PEI where she drew pictures, had bad grades and defied death.
She later escaped to Fredericton, NB, where she enrolled at the New Brunswick College of Craft & Design (NBCCD) with the aim of tackling her passion for the art of photography. At NBCCD, she relished in all-things-creative while in search for her niche. Since then, she's found a couple of niches. Her chosen focus of photography combined with the design-focused ciriculum, Melinda excelled and began experimenting with a process of combining darkroom photography with illustration. This work was the feature of a few articles, both in the local newspaper and the magazine, Photolife. (There was also almost a law suit, but we won't bore you with those stupid details). This then prompted her to shift her focus slightly and following her graduation from the photography program, she immediately re-enrolled to further study illustration and graphic design.
Fast forward to present day: She's been living in Halifax, Nova Scotia since 2008 and has worked in many facets of design—from web development to large format—and of course, illustration. She lives with her songwriting husband and has a penchant for the peculier.
